Canna Con Albuquerque

May 26, 2024

Getting into New Mexico we had some time to kill on Thursday, so we decided to start of the trip by going to the Sawmill Market we had some amazing food at the market, got some steak tacos with also some of the best elote that I have ever had in my life. It was so good that we went back on our last day in Albuquerque, and I ended up getting another piece. After that we had to go and see the Breaking bad store as well as drive by the one and only Walter white house. The store has some really amazing props from the actual tv show. They even have props from better call Saul. After that we stopped by at Senas Beef Jerky and got some of the best beef jerky in the valley. We got three different flavors that were pineapple habanero, honey garlic, and lemon pepper. The beef jerky is paper thin and is almost like a chip when you bit into it. I wasn’t sure how I felt about it at first but after a couple piece I quickly ate more. The portions were also huge absolutely worth the money the gallon zip lock bag was filled up halfway with jerky and I only got the 4 oz portion. We finished out the day by going over the Sandia Peak Tramway this tram takes you from around 6,000 feet to 10,300 feet to the crest of the mountain. When we got up to the top, we hiked around the trails for about an hour or so walking a mile before we decided to head back down the mountain. We really enjoyed the views up at the top even though it was quite cloudy there were some breaks where we were able to look over Albuquerque.

Day 2 was the start of the event, and we could not wait to get set up and meet all of you amazing people. At the event we talked with a ton of locals and also people from out of town, we made some real connections and cannot wait to see what the future holds for us. An amazing connection that we had made on day two was with Regan with Cannasitco. They are a digital marketing and website building company. We are looking forward to continuing the conversation with Regan and see what services they can provide for us to help us grow our company. There was also a ton of other notable companies there that we were able to talk with throughout the event, some of those companies were Wildflower Wax tips, Prohibition 37, Day Savers, and also Sol Fire Gardens. Sol Fire has to be the best neighbor that we have ever had and let me tell you we have had some shitty neighbors in the past. Throughout the event we had struck up some conversation but mostly it was quick because he was really busy. Towards the end of the event, he had some time, so we started talk with him and he told us about his Card game that he has created around his cannabis company. The card game has some amazing art as well as a really cool concept. We picked up our first sets of trading cards and was able to pull some really rare lucky Pheonix cards. We were also able to obtain the bad omen cards with are only available in person at the events. Along with the trading card we also picked up some of their seeds, we cannot wait to get a tent open so we can get some of these seeds started. Stay tuned to see some updates on these genetics.

After the convention ended, we headed down south to Roswell, New Mexico. Our first task was to stop by the alien Museum, it was an interesting one, they have a full library of books about aliens and UFOs they also have a back room with a ton of government documents. After that we walked around the downtown area and stopped in the shops getting some crystals, and also an antique shop that had just about everything that you could think of there. We were able to pick up some Vinyl’s and also some really old antique wood hand planes. We finished off the day by getting some food at a small dinner at the end of the downtown strip called Cowboy Café. We got some amazing burgers topped with some green chilies.

After the convention we decide to head up to Santa Fe while there we walked around the downtown area, we found a street vendor that has some amazing Damascus blades, we bought all three of the blades that he had available so that we could make some unique handles for them. Other than the street vendor the downtown area wasn’t really much for us there was just a ton of really expensive tourist shops. After that we went over to Meow Wolf, we heard that if we are in NM then you have to stop at this attraction. It defiantly did not disappoint, there is a bunch of different rooms to walk through as well as many secret entrances that will bring you out to different areas. There is a puzzle or story that you can try and follow while you are there, but we were not able to figure out what to do so we just freely walked around and saw, touched, and opened everything that we could. Once we spent a couple hours there, we found a unique spot called Casa Grande Trading Post. This shop is in the middle of absolutely nowhere there is the small town of Los Cerrillos and in that town, there is a trading post that has a ton of antiques and minerals there. It was one of the coolest finds of the trip and we were also able to pick up Cholla Cactus while eventually we are going to turn into some amazing cactus and resin dab picks. Our final stop in Santa Fe was to drive up to ski Santa Fe, this was a beautiful scenic drive up to the ski lodge.

The next day we headed even farther north and spent the day in Tao, NM. Our first stop was at Bent Street Grill. We got into town early afternoon and decided to start the day at this restaurant, and it did not disappoint first off, I want to start out by saying that the ground beef and bison that they serve there is grass fed and the other food is organic. The avocado in the morning plate with a ground beef patty was a great way to start the day. After getting a good lunch we went over to Tao Rockers. Wow is the first thing that I have to say about this mineral store. This is by far the most impressive mineral store I have ever been to. They have three different rooms that are floor to ceiling shelves of rocks, minerals, and fossils. You even have to look hard because they have boxes under the shelves that also have more amazing minerals in them. We spent way more than we should have at this store but many you cannot beat the reasonable pricing and insane quantity of unique minerals. Once we spent way too much money at Tao Rockers, we went over to the Pueblo village it was cool seeing the Adobo structures and also all of the local art. To round off the day we drove up to the ski resort in Taos, another amazing drive through the mountains, we also stopped off at a pull of so that we can go down to the stream and shoot some content for some of our products. Our last stop of the day was at Taos Pizza out back they honestly had some really amazing pizza, but we felt that the prices were a bit high for what you got. Tao was the final stop on our trip, and it was the perfect way to end the trip, we will definitely be back to New Mexico hopefully in the near future.
