Wood Species
Here at Moon Men Visions we offer a variety of wood species for any cannabis accessory creation you are looking for either your custom product or your wholesale order. Currently on our list is 8 different wood species starting from the lower cost selection to the higher more premium cost selection.
Starting off is the most widely used type of wood in most of the US. This species is Oak, it has a very distinctive grain pattern with a light brown color with darker brown grain stripes. This is a quality choice for a super durable and reliable choice.
Next up is another common wood used in the US and it is maple. I think that maple is a very underrated wood species because the amount of grain and figure a piece of maple can have almost makes it into a premium wood. Maple is mostly a lite tan wood with some light brown areas. The grain is more random and does not have any specific pattern to it. Another solid hardwood choice that is guaranteed to last a lifetime.
Rounding off the lower cost wood we come to Cherry, lately we have really been using a lot of cherrywood for our trays because we found that a lot of this species have some really unique and cool looking patterns in the grain. Once the mineral oil hits this grain it really pops and tells another story. Cherry is typically a light brown wood with plenty of dark brown grain textures to it. Another super solid and durable choice for any of your cannabis accessories.
Now we are starting to get into out exotic wood selections we have here. First up is African Mahogany it is most plentiful in the rain forests of Nigeria, Ghana and the Ivory Coast, although it grows in all of the timber producing countries of West Africa. This wood is a great selection for any accessory you are looking for. This wood is typically a light to dark deep red/brown. It is truly a unique selection, the grain on this board is straight with some interlocking which makes it a sturdy choice.
This next one is another one from Africa and it is called Sapele. Typically, Sapele has a light brown to gold to reddish tone to the wood and some people even say that there is some pink that comes through. When the mineral oil is applied to this wood species it has a lustrous Iridescent to the grain. This is an absolute unique selection of wood and honesty is so beautiful you don’t even need any artwork on your roll masters.
For this next one we are bringing it back to the United States and talking about some Walnut. This has to be the most popular choice for wood workers because of its wide range in colors from light brown to dark browns and also some tans. There is also such a unique characteristic to the grain that you find in Walnut. Usually, this wood species is popular for furniture making because of joy beautiful and durable the wood is!
Heading on back to Africa our next species of wood is called Bubinga. This wood is hands down my favorite because of the unique colors and grain. The base color of Bubinga can range from a lighter pinkish red to light- to medium brown. With this unique hardwood you can find some beautiful tones that can really accent your luxurious cannabis accessory.
Last but not least on our list is zebra wood. This species comes from central Africa and has a very distinctive striped grain pattern hence the name zebrawood. This wood species has a pale brown tone with regular or irregular marks of dark brown in varying width. This one is truly the most unique wood species that we offer here at Moon Men Visions.
